WET N WILD COVERALL CONCEALER PALETTE REVIEW!!

Hey guys I was planning on doing a summer favourites post but then I came across this unfinished blog post from ages ago so I decided to revamp it and publish this instead.I hope you guys don't think I'm being too lazy.I promise I will post my summer favourites in the next couple of days. Enjoy!!

wet n wild coverall concealer palette-O’Connells pharmacy €4.49

Only recently did american brand wet n wild arrive in ireland and as you can imagine I was only just dying to get my makeup hungry mitts on some of their products. It took me a while to find a wet n wild stand but eventually I found one in a small chemist in tralee (where I live) called O’ Connells pharmacy.

I dont have much luck with concealers and I am constantly buying them so when I saw this colorful  pinwheel-esqueconcealer palette I had to give it a whirl (see what I did there?)

There are four concealers in this palette:regular concealer(or nude),green concealer, pink concealer and a pearly white highlighter.

image (1)The green is supposed to counteract redness

The pink covers blue circles under your eyes

and the white acts as a highlighter

The pink is probably my favourite concealer in this palette.I actually dont think its very good at covering dark circles but as you can tell the nude concealer is way darker than my skin tone so the pink is a perfect match.I apply the pink on top of my green concealer and it gives me really good coverage probably better than my usual day to day concealer.I really like the green concealer as well  although the only drawback is that its a little too green but that can be fixed by applying an extra layer of concealer on top of it.The only disapointment in  this palette in my opinion is the “highlighter”.I think the highlighter  far too shimmery and when I applied it to my cupids bow it looked like I had just got back from a particularly tough workout.I think the highlighter will probably stay untouched along with the way too dark concealer.

Overall I must say I am pretty impressed by this product. Most days unless I am going somewhere glitzy I will slap this concealer onto my face and then I’m ready to go.I find to get the best coverage it works better for me to use a small eyeshadow brush but you can also use your fingers as this product is super creamy and easy to blend.I will definitely be purchasing this product again and unless something else wows me in the meantime I can definitely see this being in my monthly favorites and staying there for months to come.

MY BUDGET SKINCARE ROUTINE

View image.jpeg in slide show

Does money guarantee you quality?I don't think so, definitely not.I can't justify spending thirty or forty euro on a cream that I mightn't even like.My philosophy is that if you spend under €10 on an item you won't be disapointed if its not as good as the packaging promises and if it is good you will be ten times more happier because you got a bargain in the process. So that is why I wanted to talk about my cheap as chips skincare routine.

There are six stages in my night/morning skincare routine:cleanse/makeup removal, face wash, treatment gel, moisturizer, spot wand and finally face mask (only 3 times a week)I will have the links and prices to every product featured in this post at the bottom of the page as usual in case any of you want to check them out further and if there is any questions that I didnt answer in this post feel free to ask below and I will answer them.

1. Penneys own brand face wipes - €1.50 (They come in a twin pack so you get 2 packs for 1.50)
View image.jpeg in slide show

I generally amn't a fan of face wipes but at €1.50 who could refuse?I use these wipes just to remove my eye makeup at night and I must say there is nothing cheap about these guys. All I have to do is quickly swipe one of these over my eyes and instantly all the makeup comes off.I did try these to take off my face makeup as well but I found them extremely drying so I tend to stick to using them to remove my eye makeup. If you ever find yourself in penneys in the near future I would 100% reccomend picking up a pack.

2.Boots tea tree and witch hazel cleanser/toner - €4.49
View image.jpeg in slide show The next thing I use is this boots tea and witch hazel cleanser/toner which I purchased for €4.49 but I think there is a sale on this product at the moment in boots which means you could get it at an even better price.Wow! I don't know what to really say about this product except that it does the job and its amazing.I only recently found out that tea tree is a miracle cure to spots and to be perfectly honest I completely agree. Not only does this remove every trace of makeup I have left at the end of the day but it also clears up any spots with the help of my other tea tree products which I will be talking about further down in this post.Definitely a must-have and as you can see I'm already halfway through this bottle.

3.Garnier pure active intensive deep pore unclogging gel wash (I can't find this listed anywhere as I've had it for a while but I think it might be around €5.00)
View image.jpeg in slide show  To be honest for probably about a year I was convinced this product was nothing special and I ended up shoving it to the back of my drawers until I eventually rediscovered it a couple months later.I still think this product isn't brilliant but I do think that it does help to unblock my pores and brighten up my skin.I usually use about one pump of this gel wash and spread it all over my face and then wash it off with water after about a minute.I must admit this is probably the part I most enjoy out of my whole skincare routine and sometimes if I'm being super lazy I will only use this before I go to bed.I don't think I would recommend this product because there is definitely better out there but if you're just looking for a really refreshing facial wash I guess this would be ok.

4.Boots tea tree and witch hazel night treatment gel -€4.29

View image.jpeg in slide showThis is another product from the boots tea tree and witch hazel range and I must say this is just as amazing as the cleanser.Basically this gel is supposed to get rid of spots and clear skin while you sleep.I maybe wouldnt go as far to say as it gets rid of spots but it does reduce them and when I wake up in the morning after I have applied this I do notice a visible difference.I don't use this everyday as it takes quite a bit to dry and I find that once I have this on I can't really apply anything else so I will usually only use this if I have a breakout or I don't feel my skin is as good as it could be.This product in my opinion can definitely be used in more than one way as its also leaves my skin super soft and just as refreshed as any face mask would.

5.Boots tea tree and witch hazel spot wand-€4.89
View image.jpeg in slide showThis is probably the only product in my skincare routine that I feel should cost less as although the formula is again brilliant you dont really get a lot of product for what you're paying compared to the other products in this range.Basically there is two ends to this spot "wand" a day and a night end.The day end is a clear gel so you can apply it over your makeup during the day whereas the night end is a more thick consistency.Personally I use this product after the night treatment gel so I can go over any areas I feel I might have missed previously.I also will throw this into whatever handbag I am using so that if I have a spot I can apply this throughout the day while I'm out.

6.Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion -€7.89

View image.jpeg in slide showI actually seen this product in a magazine where they were doing a whole feature on moisturising and dry skin and immediately I knew I had to have it.This moisturizer is  fragrance free and is made from really natural ingredients which is great for anybody who has sensitive skin.I don't really have too much to say about this because the word moisturizer kinda does all of the explaining for itself.Bottom line is its super hydrating and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft.

7.Neutrogena visibly clear 2-in-1 wash and mask -€4.49

View image.jpeg in slide showMy last item is this neutrogena 2-in-1 wash and mask.I actually only use the mask part of this product because I find the wash to be too thick and I actually rather a gel consistency because I find its easier to wash off.I only use this mask maybe once a week sometimes twice and I don't really have much to say about it.It's ok I mean its definitely not brilliant but my face feels somewhat refreshed and clean after I take this off so I think it probably does do something which is the only reason I have kept it in my skincare routine. However I wouldn't recommend buying this and definitely once I have used this up I am going to purchase the face mask from the boots tea tree range as I definitely think that brand is more suited to my skin than neutrogena is.

So there it is my first skincare routine!Hope you all liked it and make sure to leave a comment below of the items in your skincare routine.I won't be posting again for a couple of days but make sure to check out my twitter @gemintherocks to get updates and information about future blog posts.

THE BUDGET FOUNDATION YOU'RE GOING TO WANT TO HEAR ABOUT!

Before I start my review let me just get this out there on the world wide web I am abnormally pale,ok?No need to get defensive about it it's just the way it is.Maybe if kuwtk didnt exist I would be a bronzed goddess (that's what I continually tell myself anyway.)So as you can imagine it is ridiculously hard to find a suitable foundation for my skin tone.Too many times I have been caught smearing "pale" testers on my hands only to find they're way too dark and I am left standing there getting the occasional sympathetic glance from the sales assistants (who might I add are always gorgeous.) I have tried numerous brands from the drugstore only to be disapointed time and time again until eventually I came across seventeen stay time foundation.

Wow can I just say this foundation is the best I have come across yet.Not only does this foundation have six really fair shades but it also has an spf of 25 (not that it matters in good 'ol Ireland.) and has amazing full but natural looking coverage.WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW.

I purchased this foundation in porcelain -the lightest shade and  it is a perfect match for my skintone. On the bottle it says this foundation stays for 25 hours but I am yet to test out this statement as like most females I do not sleep with my makeup on whatever anybody else might tell you.Another bonus to this foundation is that its super blendable! I manage most mornings to apply my full face of foundation in under 2 minutes which is amazing for me!All I need is one little pump of the foundation which I squirt onto my hand and then proceed to dot blobs of it all around my face before grabbing my brush and blending.

The only thing I would say about this foundation is that unless you want to look like a ghost I would not suggest that dark people should purchase this foundation as even the darkest shade is still pretty pale. Also if you have dry skin make sure to moisturize really well before applying as this foundation tends to cake around dry areas as I have found out the hard way.

Overall this foundation gets a major thumbs up from me and if you're pale and have a tough time finding foundations to match your skin tone (like me) then I would definitely suggest picking this up in your local boots.I will have the link to this foundation below in case any of you want to find out more!

P.S Make sure to leave a comment below of what post you want me to do next?I was thinking about doing a piece on irish fashion but let me know what you think and I will make sure to give shoutouts to the readers who had the most inventive post ideas!
